A taxi driver for thirty years and the unofficial guide to Leyton for anyone newly arrived. Knew every road, every shortcut, every kindness.

Career and community

Drove a black cab from 1990 onwards. Refused to use the satnav until 2018.

Drove elders to the mosque for Jumu'ah every Friday without ever taking a fare.
